“Investigo objetos cotidianos y los reinterpreto, por lo general con humor y dándoles una imagen surrealista. Al final son ellos los que terminan, con mi ayuda, enviando un mensaje de humor, de ironía. Los objetos tienen mucho que ofrecer, solo hay que saber mirarlos. Cuando intervengo, ellos me brindan pautas. Soy animista. Pienso que dentro de cada objeto hay una historia, yo le busco un significado diferente, pero aun así́, algo permanece en ellos. Dentro de estos cambios, me gusta trabajar con libros, yo les llamo ‘Libros Intervenidos’. Transgredo los libros industrialmente producidos y de ahí emerge un objeto único y limitado. Una obra de arte. Siento que los habito con nuevos criterios.
Mi familia paterna era muy aficionada a la encuadernación de libros, por lo que nací́ rodeada de ellos. Mi tío Francisco Gómez Raggio es autor de El libro de la encuadernación, algo así́ como la Biblia para los encuadernadores españoles. Por eso, al crecer con estos libros en casa aprendí́ a tratarlos y mirarlos de muchas formas”.

“I research everyday objects and reinterpret them, usually with a touch of humor and by giving them a surreal image. Ultimately they are the ones that end up, with my help, sending a humorous, ironic message. Objects have a lot to offer, you just have to know how to look at them. When I intervene, they give me guidelines. I am an animist. I believe that inside each object there is a story, I look for a different meaning, but even so, something remains in them. Within these adaptations, I like to work with books, I call them ‘Intervened Books’. I transgress the industrially produced books and from there emerges a unique and limited object. A work of art. I feel that I inhabit them with new criteria.

My uncle Francisco Gómez Raggio is the author of El libro de la encuadernación, sort of like the Bible for Spanish bookbinders. So, growing up with these books at home, I learned to treat them and look at them in many ways”.
