Furst_Ori, Pedro Zamora, Cayetano Romero y Esperanza Gómez Carrera son artistas ligados existencial y creativamente a los libros, tanto al libro objeto como al libro sujeto. Las propiedades estructurales y conceptuales de los libros son la base de la composición de sus obras. El proceso creativo comienza con la deconstrucción, donde los libros se deshacen analíticamente. Se procede descomponiendo, alterando, interviniendo o simplemente proyectando a través de la mirada del artista lo que después será una nueva realidad. Isla Negra ofrece adentrarse en una experiencia metalibrística donde se confunden libros y arte, donde, como en los mundos de Escher, lo que parecía ser pez acaba siendo pájaro.
Furst_Ori, Pedro Zamora, Cayetano Romero and Esperanza Gómez Carrera are artists existentially and creatively linked to books, both to the book as an object and as a subject. The structural and conceptual properties of books are the basis for the composition of their artworks. The creative process begins with deconstruction, where books are analytically unraveled. It proceeds by decomposing, altering, intervening or simply projecting through the artist’s gaze what will later become a new reality. Isla Negra invites the viewer to enter into a metalibristic experience where books and art are entangled, where, as in Escher’s worlds, what seemed to be fish ends up being a bird.

El estudio de Pedro Zamora es un espacio cuasi sagrado con montañas de libros antiguos, páginas, cubiertas, cartones, madera y delicados sonidos del jazz de fondo. Su arte bebe de su formación como arquitecto y fragua en piezas construidas y pinturas sin pintar. A los libros les da una nueva vida, o mejor dicho, a sus cubiertas, que desnudas de su relleno, pasan a ser arte puro, arte sin palabra, construcciones de lo deconstruido, como parte de un todo y conservando a su vez su esencia individual en el conjunto…
Pedro Zamora’s studio is a quasi-sacred space with piles of old books, pages, covers, cardboard, wood and delicate jazz sounds in the background. His art draws from his background as an architect and forges constructed pieces and non-painted paintings. He gives a new life to books, or rather, to their covers, which, stripped of their contents, become pure art, art without words, constructions of the deconstructed, as part of a whole and yet maintaining their individual essence…

“Investigo objetos cotidianos y los reinterpreto, por lo general con humor y dándoles una imagen surrealista. Al final son ellos los que terminan, con mi ayuda, enviando un mensaje de humor, de ironía. Los objetos tienen mucho que ofrecer, solo hay que saber mirarlos. Cuando intervengo, ellos me brindan pautas. Soy animista. Pienso que dentro de cada objeto hay una historia, yo le busco un significado diferente, pero aun así́, algo permanece en ellos. Dentro de estos cambios, me gusta trabajar con libros, yo les llamo ‘Libros Intervenidos’…”
“I research everyday objects and reinterpret them, usually with a touch of humor and by giving them a surreal image. Ultimately they are the ones that end up, with my help, sending a humorous, ironic message. Objects have a lot to offer, you just have to know how to look at them. When I intervene, they give me guidelines. I am an animist. I believe that inside each object there is a story, I look for a different meaning, but even so, something remains in them. Within these adaptations, I like to work with books, I call them ‘Intervened Books’…”
